Raíces Art Therapy is a nonprofit organization that provides trauma-informed art therapy and creative wellness programs to veterans, children, families, and communities. Our programs are designed to promote healing, emotional resilience, and self-expression in safe and supportive environments.
Absolutely not! No prior art experience is required. Our focus is on expression and healing, not artistic skill. Everyone is welcome to explore creativity at their own pace.
We currently serve:
Veterans and their families
Children and teens
Adults navigating trauma, stress, or life transitions
Community members seeking holistic wellness
Programs are available in-person and online. Some are open to the public, while others are tailored to specific groups.
Each session includes:
A safe, welcoming space
Gentle prompts for creative expression
Guided discussion or reflection (optional)
Access to art supplies (provided on-site or through mailed kits)
Sessions may be 60–90 minutes, depending on the format.
Most programs are free or donation-based thanks to the support of our community and partners. Some specialized workshops may have a small materials fee, which we can waive if needed.
Yes! We offer:
4-week guided series (with optional extensions)
Drop-in sessions for walk-ins

While we offer therapeutic art experiences, we are not a licensed clinical practice. Our facilitators include trauma-informed professionals, veterans, and trained artists. We also collaborate with licensed mental health providers when needed and can offer referrals.
