Veronica Nieves is the Founder and President of Raíces Art Therapy, a nonprofit dedicated to healing trauma through creative expression, cultural identity, and community connection.

A proud U.S. military veteran, artist, and advocate, Veronica brings firsthand insight into resilience, service, and the invisible wounds many carry. With a professional background in cybersecurity, compliance, and emergency management, she’s led in high-stakes environments and now channels that same precision and heart into creating safe, healing spaces for veterans, survivors, and anyone seeking transformation through art.

As an artist herself, Veronica founded Raíces to not only give back to the community, but to create a space where art and purpose intersect, allowing others to reconnect with themselves, their stories, and their strength.

Rooted in lived experience and driven by service, she leads Raíces with a mission to offer trauma-informed, culturally grounded programs that honor every person’s path toward healing and wholeness
